About Marsha Nelson
As a self-taught artist for my earlier life, I have always enjoyed art. Since 2004, I’ve pursued my art interest with new dedication and passion, taking 11 art courses at Jacksonville State University. For several years, I’ve also been privileged to be a student in master oil painter John Lonergan’s atelier in Birmingham.
I am a representational painter whose favorite mediums are oil and watercolor. In 2022 I achieved Signature Platinum Membership in the Watercolor Society of Alabama. It has been gratifying to receive recognition for many of my paintings juried into Watercolor Society of Alabama (WSA) exhibits.
I am very grateful God has blessed me with a measure of artistic talent, as well as the incredible gift of my wonderful husband. Gordon always shares the excitement of my art journey, offers me constant support, very good critiques, and his expertise as my personal webmaster. I couldn’t do what I do without him!
